The past couple of days have brought about a significant amount of change around us. Due to the spike in positive COVID cases, Owatonna public schools announced they would be moving to a distance learning model. Our first scheduled tournament in Rochester was cancelled. Sports at the middle school were suspended and the winter high school sports season has been delayed until further notice.
We knew the presence of COVID would force us to operate differently this season and the health and safety of our players and coaches must remain our top priority. For these reasons, there will be no OBA activities until the week of November 30th at the earliest. We will use this short break to evaluate when return to play is appropriate and communicate future plans at that point.
Basketball is a long season, and we still believe we will have many opportunities to get back on the court, but now is the time to prioritize health and safety and doing our part to slow the spread of this virus.
Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we work through these challenges.
